”Informatika” Public Utility Company is a company whose primary goal is the improvement of the City’s Information System. Therefore, in 2002, it started constructing optical infrastructure with the intention of functionally connecting all interactive services of the City of Novi Sad. As the requirements for high bit speeds, high reliability and availability can efficiently be provided virtually only by modern optical communications, the resolve was made to use optical fibers in constructing and developing communal communication infrastructure of the City of Novi Sad.
This modern, scalable system, unique in Serbia, was initially an investment, in material as well as in human and technical sense of the word, of “Informatika” Public Utility Company, until 2007, when the City authority realized the significance of this project for the City’s future and the importance of its everyday application in citizens’ lives.
